About the Doctors

Dr. Ryan V. Nowlin

Dr. Ryan Nowlin is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He earned his Master of Science degree (MS) in the specialty of Orthodontics from the University of Oklahoma, where he had previously received both his Bachelor and Dental (DDS) degrees.

Among other achievements, Dr. Nowlin has been recognized for his research and was presented the Award of Excellence for the study of the craniofacial complex by the American Association of Orthodontists. He is highly involved in continuing education and is an active member of multiple local and national dental study groups.

Dr. Nowlin and his wife, Ailee, are both native Tulsans and are proud to be serving their home town community.

Dr. Van L. Nowlin

Dr. Van Nowlin has been practicing in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1974. He attended Memorial High School in Tulsa and graduated from Oklahoma State University. He received his dental degree (DDS) and his orthodontic specialty degree (MSD) from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. After completing his education, he and his wife, Janice (also a Memorial High School graduate), moved back home to Tulsa. His professional affiliations include all of the national and state orthodontic and dental associations. Dr. Nowlin is a past president of the Oklahoma Society of Orthodontists and he enjoys being a Clinical Professor in the Graduate Orthodontic Department at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. He is active as a director and clinical instructor with the Charles H. Tweed Foundation for Orthodontic Research and Education. Dr. Van received his American Board Certification by becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1984, which is the highest distinction that can be achieved in the orthodontic profession. He was re-certified in 2002.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Van is a member and former director of the Rotary Club of Southeast Tulsa. He and his wife, Janice, are long time members of Asbury United Methodist Church. They are consumed with their family of two grown children and four grandchildren. Their son, Ryan, is also an orthodontist and assumes a leadership role in the Tulsa and Bixby practice. Their daughter, Romney McGuire, is a dental hygienist and lives in Tulsa with her husband, Corbin, and twin boys.
